Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: April 4, 2026

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") defines what is and is not allowed when using the Emaliz platform. It applies to all users and supplements our Terms of Service.

1. Prohibited Uses

You may not use Emaliz to:

  • Send spam or unsolicited emails — the Emaliz snippet must only be embedded in newsletters where recipients have opted in to receive them.
  • Fabricate or manipulate votes — using bots, scripts, or automated tools to submit fake votes or inflate analytics.
  • Collect personal data from readers — the voting mechanism must not be used to identify, track, or deanonymize individual readers beyond what the Service provides.
  • Distribute malicious content — embedding or linking to malware, phishing pages, or deceptive content through the feedback widget.
  • Violate laws or regulations — using the Service in any way that violates applicable local, national, or international laws.
  • Infringe on intellectual property — using the Service to distribute copyrighted content without authorization.
  • Abuse the API or infrastructure — sending excessive requests, scraping data, reverse-engineering the Service, or attempting to gain unauthorized access to our systems.
  • Harass or harm others — using the Service to harass, threaten, defame, or discriminate against any person or group.
  • Resell or redistribute the Service — offering Emaliz functionality as part of a competing service without written permission.

2. Abuse Handling

If we detect or receive a report of a violation, we will investigate and may take one or more of the following actions at our discretion:

  • Issue a warning with instructions to cease the violating behavior.
  • Temporarily suspend your account while we investigate.
  • Permanently terminate your account and delete your data.
  • Report the activity to relevant law enforcement authorities.

We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before taking action, except where immediate action is necessary to protect the Service or other users.

3. Account Suspension

Accounts may be suspended immediately and without prior notice in cases of:

  • Automated vote manipulation or bot traffic.
  • Use of the Service for phishing or malware distribution.
  • Violations that pose a security risk to other users or our infrastructure.
  • Legal or regulatory requirements.

Suspended accounts will be reviewed within 5 business days. If the violation is confirmed, the account may be permanently terminated.

4. Reporting Abuse

If you become aware of any misuse of the Service, please report it to [email protected]. We take all reports seriously and will investigate promptly.

5. Changes to This Policy

We may update this AUP from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
